#INDESIGN PRINTER PDFWRITER MAC OS#
I have installed on 3 other older iMacs running latest Mac OS and they are all working smoothly. I am using latest OS El Capitan 10.11.6 on MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7. Some users reported error, may be their system is not configured properly or did not install properly. Well, then why not use the feature of “print booklet” built in the indesign or illustrator? Well, they don’t allow you to save the print file as PDF, thats why you’ll use VIPRiser. Basically it doesn’t optimise the images included in your original indesign or illustrator file where as if you use acrobat that does it all.
#INDESIGN PRINTER PDFWRITER PDF#
The only thing i don’t like about this app is that when you want to create high resolution file (300 ppi) it creates a large PDF file so, then i have to open that file in adobe acrobat to optimise for 300 ppi to get a normal printable file. For example a A4 size 32 page booklet will have the page combinations such as cover page 32 - 01 and the back of it will be 02 - 31, and so on… This app will do it all by itself. You have to go through lot of pain if you have to do this manually. With a non-postscript printer you can specify an icc profile for your printer and paper but InDesign manages color. You can set the InDesign Print dialog box to let the printer manage color. This is highly useful in creating montage (page orders with front & back) if you have to print a booklet in your office instead of printing press. With a Postscript 3 compatible printer yes. The most useful feature of this app is (though the developer has not highlighted this!!) that it can let you “print booklet” and save that as PDF on your booklet. Instead of printing it creates a PDF file.

I can't believe that such a useful app is made available for free. PDFWriter acts like a printer driver that can be selected from application print menus. Save templates with Creative Cloud Libraries. But it does a great job of what it is made for and does it pretty fast. Create with artist-designed Printer In Office templates for Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and Premiere Rush. There is a slight scope for improvement in its user interface, though. It is a “must have tool” for all graphic designers and pre-press.

Excellent App though its name “VIPriser” is funny.
